Title: Rangers/Athletics trade
Post by: DaveW on August 06, 2025, 01:16:34 PM

Athletics trade:

Starling Marte RF NYM $12.6MM(2025)
Marte's full salary for 2025 is paid by the Athletics

Rangers trade:

Tim Elko 1B CHW prospect (pls move to Athletics' minor league roster)
2026 draft pick 6-TEX

Athletics approve.  Given our surplus of RFs I wasn't planning to extend Marte, and the chance to pick up Elko and a decent draft pick feels like a reasonable return.  Thanks for the trade talk and good luck @kidd5jersey !

Rangers accept. While I liked Tim, I had to trade a young controllable piece to get the depth I need for a playoff push. Thanks Dave!
