Title: Orioles/Rockies Trade
Post by: TheProfessor on July 29, 2025, 07:12:57 PM

Orioles receive:
2B/LF Gavin Lux (arb4, $1.2m)
2B/3B Brett Baty (arb2, $0.8m)

Rockies receive:
SP Drew Thorpe (arb1, $700k)
C Malcolm Moore (minors)
3B Sean Keys (minors)

Rockies agree. Trading away some controllable but surplus talent for a good C prospect, a prospect flier, and (once healthy) a solid arm to plug into my rotation.

Orioles @unrungbell to confirm - thanks!

O's accept.

Baty has been doing some interesting things in regards to bat speed in addition to youth and control, Lux is a stable depth piece for a thin OF.  I'm deep at catcher and like Baty enough to move Thorpe.

Thanks to the Rockies for the easy negotiations.
