Title: Yankees trade Vazquez to Braves
Post by: jcoombs16 on May 03, 2010, 06:29:13 PM
:NYY: to :ATL:
SP Vazquez, Javier, $11.5m (2010)
P Aceves, Alfredo, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Hernandez, David, $0.5m (P-n/a)

:ATL: to :NYY:
C Ross, David, $1.5m (2010)
RP Ziegler, Brad, $0.5m (P-2011)

I gain $10.5m of cap room that I plan on using to fill out my eight bench spots with prospects ($4m at max) and room to acquire another player.

I agree, I have plenty of cap to pull this deal off without hurting my team. I attempt to buy low on Javier, however he was just skipped over.

This deal is a smart move for both sides of the table.

I would like to bring irony of this deal to the light. First off, the Yankees are out of money and number two, Javier rejoins the Braves.

Good trade for the Braves here... these are the type of trades that I was talking about at the RC... big market team wants more cap room and a small to mid-market team that is deemed out of the race takes advantage of the situation.
