I appreciate all the input we got on the IR rule issue where currently if IR players don't count against the cap, then we may have problems with GM's using up their IR cap space and then not being able to call back up their injured players. I do like the idea of pro-rating 60-Day DL players to give some cap flexibility in these situations. However, for right now, I want to keep things simple.
As such I just want to update the IR rules so that these players DO still count against the cap.
I would like to have an annual "rules" debriefing in the offseason where we can all chat about what worked well and what didn't work well in the previous season and offer solutions and changes that improve things. From scoring to IR rules to new mechanics - everything will be on the table. I'm creating a new thread "Idea bin" where we can dump these ideas and then compile them into an agenda for the offseason. Here's the thread: https://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?board=4386.0
And here's the updated IR rule:
Injured Reserve Eligibility
Only players on the MLB Disabled List are eligible to be placed on the Injured Reserve (IR). Fantrax determines IR eligibility. Players on IR do not count towards the roster limit, however their salaries still count against the team salary cap. Once a player is removed from the MLB Disabled List and returns from injury, they must be taken off IR before the GM can participate in Free Agency.
