Title: Brewers and A's Trade

The Brewers trade to the A's:

SP - Marcus Stroman ($12.0M - 2026)
SP - Dax Fulton (Prospect)

The A's trade to the Brewers:

MI - Xander Bogaerts ($7M - 2026)

The Brewers get a MI because that was a position of need going in to the season. With the deal  the Brewers also get a small amount of cap relief for free agency. The deal provides the A's a MLB SP which they need and a SP prospect to add to their minor league roster.

The Athletics concur with the trade. With Ryu pitching in Korea, we only have one major league starter and felt the need to get at least one more at a known salary prior to free agency. Adding a minor league pitcher helps for longer term planning. MI is the one area where we have a sufficient amount of major league players, so we felt it was worth trading Bogaerts to secure a starting pitcher.
