We do this trade to get a solid MI in Yunel and a prospect the organization has been keeping an eye on for Ruben Tejada, who will be sorely missed, and a couple of players deemed expendable. With FA so crazy and Brandon Phillips refusing to sign an extension the past season, the Jays were in dire need of a solid player to man the MI.

Reds do this to get Tejada who the organization has become fairly fond of over the past year. Baker will hopefully pitch enough to be helpful and may or may not be re-signed for following seasons. Chipper is nice bench depth, but may be a dead 3.5 mil come next season. Pleasure Daniel.
I think Yunel Escobar has now been traded twice by and for the Reds, and has spent a total of 10 days on our roster.
