Title: Reds O's trade again
Post by: Dan Wood on April 23, 2010, 11:43:24 AM
Reds send

CI LaRoche, Andy, $0.5m (2011)
OF Snider, Travis, $0.5m (P-2012)
MI Izturis, Maicer, $1m (2010)
+ X-MI Izturis, Maicer, Revenue Sharing (LAA), $-1m in 2010

for
P Feliz, Neftali, $0.5m (P-n/a)
MI Roberts, Brian, $9.5m (2013)
+ 9 mil in 2010

O's to confirm.

I hate to see Snider go, but I have depth in the OF with Swisher on board, and the ageless wonder Edmonds knocking the crap out of the ball. I also have depth at CI with Smoak getting the call, Ike Davis, and Helton, plus Swisher can play there too if injury should strike.

LaRoche and Iztruis can hang around this year and next to help out until the young guns get there.  This scoring format favors offense so going for Snider (and I need OF) makes sense.  Plus, I finally dump the Roberts contract.  I think I am finally free from my predecessor.

I almost nabbed Feliz, but wouldn't give up a top-young prospect in the majors to do so... good trade Dan.

Good Trade for both.  Two wildcards with potential.  Snider will be very good if he can cut down the K rate atleast a little.  Feliz will contribute more pts as a starter.

I still need another reliable arm not named Garza. Davis sucks. Gorzo/ Westbrook/ Myers are OK, but I still need a 2nd starter. Least Feliz can K a bunch from the pen.

There is also a good chance that Feliz moves back to the rotation.  Holland is throwing very good in AAA, but Feliz is probably the 2nd option if anything were to happen.
