I made some clarifications to the language of the rule, but the only material change is the adjustment of the time period. The adjustment of the Free Agency rule will be as follows:
Section B: Free Agency
Item B I: FA Bid Procedures
- Each player is auctioned in a separate thread at the ProFSL website that may be started by anyone.
- There is no limit to the number of players that can be auctioned at one time or the number of winning bids for a
player GM. - Bids are made in the format of total contract value.
- Minimum bid increases are 500k for contracts under $20m total and $1m for contracts greater than $20m total.
Item B II: Winning Bid / Player Salary
- The winning bid will be the highest total contract amount.
- A bid on a player is considered final when it has been open for
72 48 hours. - A player's annual salary is determined
when after a bid is won. The resulting salary will be the final bid divided by number of years, rounded to the nearest $500k.
Note that the number of years does not need to be listed until the bid is won. If the bid is less than $20m then contract can be valued in multiples of $500k. If it is $20m or more then it must be in multiples of $1m.
Item B III: Prospect Contract Signing Bonus
Players who are eligible for a prospect contract can have the bid (less $500k) turned into a guaranteed signing bonus. Note that signing bonuses are 100% guaranteed and stay on the issuing team's books, regardless if that player is later traded.
Item B IV: Contract for Winning Bid
- Upon the expiration of the
72 48 hour clock the winning bid will be modified to show the winning team and "Stickied" on the board. It is the responsibility of the GM who won the bid to declare the contract terms within 48 hrs. - If, after 48 hours have expired, terms are not posted, the 2nd highest bidder has the OPTION to petition the league for the rights of the player.
Should If a contract is not posted and the option to petition is not exercised be declined, the player will be returned to the free agent pool.
Item B V: Free Agent Trade Restriction
- Players signed to extensions or as off-season free agents cannot be traded until June 1st[/color
- Players signed as in-season free agents cannot be traded for 60 days
Free Agent signings, and players who are extended, cannot be traded until 60 days after they have signed. This date will be shown per each player in the official rosters section. In addition to our 60-day NTC rule, any players signed to extensions as well as FA contracts in the offseason cannot be traded until June 1st the following year.
This rule will take effect for free agency starting January 2025

I've been waffling about posting about this rule change. As the commissioner, I will generally not try to sway the votes on rules changes, but I'm this case I've been back and forth. I struggle to see the value in going less than 48 hours for this league. I know there are several people out here that play in Live leagues. I think it's great to have diversity in the leagues. I believe that not every active GM in this league is able to log on everyday and it concerns me that going to 24 hours will be detrimental to those GMs and future recruiting efforts. Please consider this as you vote

I agree with commish.
I think we should be careful to not swing the pendulum too far too fast with this rule or any other. Take smaller steps in the direction we want, allow the changes some soak time, assess it, and make another decision if we want to take an additional small step the following offseason.

Right now, ~70% of all GM votes have indicated a want to move to a 24 hour clock. I would also guess that these are some of the more active owners in the league, and are used to a little faster pace in other leagues. I agree with not trying to convert the league into something that it's not, but also realize that a slower pace might disincentivize some of the more active owners to stay in the league.

Bump, to include more owners into the discussion. Half (15) of all owners have voted so far.
