Title: Re: Contract Extension Table
Post by: NippyJones on October 15, 2024, 11:59:26 AM
If a player on my roster is up for a contract extension but is not eligible for a contract extension per this table therefore he automatically goes to free agency despite my wish to retain his services. Is this correct?

This is just the raw list going off of 25% of the players a their respective positions.  It's not a list of actual Free Agents.

I understand that this is not a list of free agents, it is a list that identifies the 25% who qualify for contract extensions, whether or not they are up for one.

The question is I have a player who is not part of the 25% and needs a contract extension or he becomes a free agent. What can I offer this player, if anything?

He's not extendable then.

Where are these figures taken from? Just asking because some don?t line up with what I see on fantrax. A lot seem slightly off. Also, historically, contract extensions are based off the best of a players 2 previous seasons. Is that still the case? I know there?s a new handbook coming soon but also decisions need to be made for extensions by Nov 9 which is getting close
