It seems that there is substantial support for increasing the number of minor league spots. I'm separating this topic out to provide for discussion on this topic. If you support, please oblige the number of minor league spots you'd like to see.

I'm regards to this topic, I'm going to say this. I've always liked the fact that there's still players & prospects to be found in FA. I believe this is good for the league as it gives another way to build teams. Adding any additional spots, will sorely reduce this opportunity. Just interesting by 5 spots would dry up that opportunity 30 teams x 5 spots is 150 additional players.
Before I started writing this I was open to an additional 5 spots, however, now I think I'm opposed to additional spots.

I'd suggest that if we do ramp up our minors (which I favor, btw), it should be expanded by no more than 10 spots per offseason/year. I like the idea of a minors roster at 40-50 players, but do not want to rush to get there either. This would give teams ample time to get used to the changes and dive deeper into the world of prospectdom.

I am opposed to additional minor league spots but if I'm in the minority then the increase should be no more than 10 players.
-
I'm opposed to increasing the MiLB rosters. I like the idea of finding a FA every now and then

1000% yes. Maximize minors Armchair has 150 (200 at one point) per team and there are still active guys in the FA market. I now find myself managing a team with very few MLB players and the lack minors slots makes a rebuild potentially slower due not being able to have space for player development. Make it 100, make it 300 lol

So far, we have 2 yeas and 3 nays.

yes to an increase

We currently have 5 yeas to 3 nays. Would like to see at least 1/3 of the league discuss this topic before deciding to proceed to a poll or table for future consideration.

I don?t mean to sound negative, but the lack of responses make me think that owner voted are becoming less relevant. Perhaps, we should consider having such rules decided by a committee.

I agree with you, but I want to let the current process play out first before suggesting or instituting wholesale changes.

Yes - More MILB slots could help rebuilding teams become competitive more quickly.
-
In general, I'm opposed to increasing the milb roster spots significantly. If I wanted to deal with a huge minor league system, I would have signed up for a different league.
I think this should be revisited if we ever change the minimum number of active players.

There has to be 8 for votes to proceed to a poll.

I agree to add more minor league spots but at a slower process maybe add 5 open slots per draft. Maybe 20 spots total. Dont want it to be to big butbit would help add more chances to call up guys and help build up mlb rosters quicker. Teams that dont want to add more players to minors can choose not to atleast they have the open slots in minors to do so

No. More availability of free agents helps rebuilding teams.
