I would like to consider moving to 26-28 active roster and 35 minors requiring MLB service time for inclusion on the MLB roster.  I also think this should be combined with some kind of required targets of activity.  I believe reducing the number of MLB players on active rosters would provide more available players in FA providing more MLB players to spread across rosters.

If we reduce the active roster size that much, there will be unintended consequences...here's an example of one, and there may be more.

- IRL teams can call up and option players back to minors. We cannot send players who exceed AB/IP thresholds back to minors, unless that rule is changed as part of this.  Once a player exceeds those thresholds, they HAVE to be on our active rosters.  So then, the only way to accommodate this with existing rule is to release a player when the owner has no control over when those thresholds are met.
- If we move forward with something like this, I would propose that any player on a PC contract has "options" that can be used to demote the player to minors.

Agreed. If we include a stipulation that players who are no longer minor eligible in Franchise get demoted IRL, then they can be demoted in Franchise. We would also need to impose some type of penalty for "stashing" those types of players in the minors after they are recalled.

Here is my thought give players so many minor league options once they are promoted up. If u reduce roster this could turn into being a pain in the ass. Then how u going to do give every team a option to drop players for free to get to that new roster size? Also if y ftop roster down then i think it would be good to increase minors im not saying a big increase maybe 5 spots this will allow teams to

Drop mlb down to 25 man roster allow each team free drops until they get to 25 and increase minors by only by 5 this will help teams add more players to minors which will them to be able to promote more guys to your roster which will allow more free agents

I am 100% behind having more minors.   Double/ Triple what we have now.
