I would like to propose an increase in the number of IR spots allowed. Personally, I would be open to an unlimited number, but I am open to suggestions for an alternative to unlimited. Please note all cap hits would still be observed.
-
MLB has 7 and 10-Day Injured Lists. Plus, the unprecedented increase in pitchers going on the IL makes it highly reasonable to greatly expand the number of players on the IL
Therefore, I support 3 options that we could put to a vote.
1. Unlimited players on Injured List
2. 10 Players on Injured List
3. 15 players on Injured List
-
I was opposed to the original 2 player IL but after losing a starting rotation to TJ this year unlimited spots looks more reasonable.
-
I support increasing this. I believe salary cap is sufficient limitation. I like the flexibility this provides to cover for injuries.
-
I agree and introduce where a team only pays 50% to an IR listed player
-
Vote for increase
-
I support an increase to an unlimited IL during the season, but would prefer to keep no IL during the offseason (the current practice).

This proposal will proceed to an official league poll, to be posted "shortly."

For the Rules Committee
I meant to address this earlier. It's totally on me.
I would like each of you to post on the currently existing thread:
Support: Y/N
If yes, should this begin immediately? Y/N
I'm only considering this because I dropped the ball. We got to 7 sponsors, but never got an 8. It seems like there is wide support for this account those who responded.
Feel free to leave comments about your position as well. Thanks!
-
Anyone is welcome to comment. Only rules committee members votes will count.
-
Yes to both
-
I would also support a shorter Injured List, since it is tracked by Fantrax with a flag designation next to the player.
-
Yes, I support a larger IL

I'm for keeping the 60-day at two. I don't see that many on the 60 day in MLB to qualify for our IL. There are currently 54 players on the 60-day DL throughout MLB. Less than 2/team
What I see most is day-to-day. For a little perspective: https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/injuries/
As for a 7,10 or 15 day IL being added, consider that players placed on IR can be replaced thru FA. Looks like a nightmare trying to keep up with. Players can be stashed indefinitely on the IR if GM's don't keep up. There are enough problems getting GMs to update their prospect contracts on a regular basis let alone players going on/off IL
-
Yes I support and yes would suggest starting immediately
-
I support increasing the 60 day IR spots immediately but only the 60 day.
-
Fantrax has a setting whereby your roster would be illegal if you left a healthy player on the IL, and you would score zero points. I think that would be a powerful incentive to prevent teams from stashing players.

The only thing I saw was a setting for Max. on IR. Where is this setting?

OK I see the setting and it looks like it would serve the purpose as far as not hoarding players.
The only other issue is keeping the spreadsheet up=to-date.
-
The compromise in another Profsl league to limit the spreadsheet transactions was to cap the IL to 5 players.
-
That's one question that needs to be answered- How many IR spots do we want? 2,5,10, unlimited?
Another consideration:
Currently only 60-day IR players are eligible for our IR. Do we want to add 10,and 15-day players?
-
Since our rosters are equivalent to the 40 man roster, only the 60 day IR makes sense. Injury totals only climb as we progress through the season.
-
Yes increase to 2 more 15 day IR slots
