Title: Rockies/White Sox trade
Post by: DaveW on July 28, 2024, 05:38:08 PM

Rockies trade:

Ben Rice C/1B NYY P-N/A
Drew Thorpe SP CHW P-N/A
Kerry Carpenter OF DET P-2026
Gavin Cross CF/OF KC prospect

White Sox trade:

James Wood CF/OF WAS P-N/A

Rockies approve.  Trading four likely MLB starters in 2025 for James Wood, who is the top prospect on my favorite real-life team.  Swinging for the fences on a guy who could be a face of the franchise, but trading away a ton of talent and depth to do it.  Good luck @andyscott23 !

Confirm.
Really wasn?t looking to move Wood but Rockies were persistent and offered a quality package in return.
We move a talented prospect for MLB depth and a prospect as we continue to rework the Southside Sox.
Appreciate the numerous messages to get the deal done. Best of Luck to the Rockies.
