Title: Cubs/Marlins trade
Post by: POWERHOUSE on June 23, 2024, 07:39:41 PM

Cubs trade:

2B Chandler Simpson (prospect)

Marlins trade:

RP Bryan Abreu P-2025

Move an intriguing prospect for a quality young reliever with a nice K rate and who is a consistent source of holds. @rcankosy to confirm

Marlins confirm. We like Abreu a lot, but we are far from contention, so we will continue to acquire prospects who might help us in the future.

@rcankosy @Alpha5 please resolve the roster issues that I've tagged you on, before the trade can be processed.

@dbreer23

I traded Simpson from my minors and Demoted Hurtubise to fill that open minors spot and open spot on MLB roster for Abreu

Understood.

In the future, you either need to post the corresponding move WITH the trade, or BEFORE the trade. Technically, the trade is illegal if you don't have the spot ALREADY OPEN. Posting the move after the trade doesn't resolve the issue.
