Title: Reds-Rockies Trade
Post by: TheLongHorn on June 04, 2024, 10:17:09 PM

:CIN: trade:

1B Triston Casas p-2026 $0.5M
SP Alejandro Rosario pna
2025 third round pick

to :COL: for:

OF Alex Verdugo $4M 2027
1B Spencer Torkelson $0.5M 2024>>$8.1M 2028
1B Abimelec Ortiz pna
SP Yordanny Monegro pna
2025 third round pick from TOR
2025 fifth round pick from COL

Reds make this trade to sell high on Casas while also buying low on Torkelson. We also acquire more prospects to help flesh out our core and pick up an outfielder on a manageable contract. We also swap pitching prospects that we are high on. Rockies to confirm, thanks @DaveW

:CIN: trade:

1B Triston Casas BOS p-2026 $0.5M
SP Alejandro Rosario TEX pna
2025 third round pick

to :COL: for:

OF Alex Verdugo NYY $4M 2027
1B Spencer Torkelson DET $0.5M 2024>>$8.1M 2028
1B Abimelec Ortiz TEX pna
SP Yordanny Monegro BOS pna
2025 third round pick from TOR
2025 fifth round pick from COL

Rockies approve.  I expect/hope that Casas will be back later this season, and I like the Pasquantino/Casas combination long-term at 1B.  Dealing Verdugo from a surplus of MLB OFs, then we move around some prospects and picks.  Good luck Javier @jmntl82 !
