Not long after I posted in the trade block I received a proposal for a veteran MI from bridgestone to take it or leave it.
OF Fukudome, Kosuke, $12m (2011) + $6m from Cubs in 2010
MI Aviles, Mike, $2.5m (2012)
RP Stokes, Brian, $0.5m (P-2010)
P Brackman, Andrew, $1m (P-n/a) (goes off of EDR)
P Robertson, David, $0.5m (P-2012)
OF Cunningham, Aaron, $0.5m (P-n/a)
I lose some cheap depth and pitching prospects, but obtain a decent outfielder and the MI that I need right now.

I accept... I receive modest propsects and dump that horrible Fukudome contract.

FYI, Dan, I count $239.5m in my current salary, but it says otherwise in my roster. If I do need to drop someone to clear cap space then it will be:

The Cubs are able to dump a veteran contract in Fukudome. They also obtain three players that could develop. Robertson is a great K/9 guy, if he can get his control, he can be the 8th inning guy. Who knows maybe this is Brackman's year, although most doubt it. Finally, I believe the Cubs reacquire Cunningham. The cubbies lead the league in reacquiring players recently traded.
The Yanks get Aviles and hopes he returns to his 2008 ways.
Good trade for both teams.
