Free Agency

.500K > 4m = 1 year contract
4.1m > 9m = 1 or 2 year contract
9.1m > 21m = 1 to 3 year contract
21.1m > 50m = 1 to 4 year contract
51.1m > = 1 to 5 year contract

Free Agency will begin each year on December 1st at midnight EST.

MLB & International players:

Free agents consist of MLB, Minor League and International players.   When posting a MLB or International player you will create a new thread in the Open Transactions with the following.
1.  name the thread the players name and team he plays for or if he is a free agent in MLB then use NA
2.  Bid amount in the body of the thread.
3.  Opening bid amount must be a minimum amount of .500K for MLB or International Players

No more than 5 open high bids by any GM at any time.

When bidding on players any additional bid must be in increments of .100K.   Once the bid stands for 24 hours then the bid will be sticky and the winning GM will have 24 hours to offer contract.   If after 24 hours no contract has been offered the player will either

A. offered to the next highest bid.
B. Be returned to free agency.

Minor League players

Minor league players will be posted in the same manner as MLB and International and all rules will apply as posted above.
A.  Any player that is eligible to be in the minor leagues is considered a P contract, or Rookie contract.   There are two contracts.  First are players that have no major league experience.   Those contracts are automatically a five year contact.
B.  All rookies receive a contract of .300K
C.  When replying or upping a minor league bid this is considered a 1 time bonus paid to the player.   All increments must be in .100K.
example.   Player X winning bid is P plus 3.5 million the 3.5m is paid in the current year only and you must have the budget for that player.   This can not be spread out.  If the player is dropped then the salary is only paid by the team that won the bid.   If the player is traded the money follows the player to the new team treaded too.
D.  All minor league players with any major league experience can only be signed year to year and will only have a 1 year contract.

Hometown Discounts

Teams will receive a hometown on players that are in final year of contracts during the extension process.

If teams are also bidding on free agents that play for the team you manage then you will receive a discount on the winning bid.

The discount will be 20 percent.

Example:  I am Braves manager.  There is a free agent in the Braves organization that I win the bid on.   I will receive 20% discount off the winning bid.  So if the winning bid is 16m then I actually get the player for 13.8m.

No player can make less than the league minimum of .500k mlb contract.   So if the winning bid is 600k I can get a discount because that would be under .500k.   If you win a hometown discount bid on a .600k bid then you would get the .500k limit.  Just understand that every mlb contract has to be a minimum.500k
