Title: New Orleans/Boston
Post by: Braves155 on June 26, 2022, 11:45:57 PM
Celtics Receive:
(PF/CHI) Patrick Williams $2.5 (2024)
(C/BKN) Day'Ron Sharpe $0.9 (2025) *Options for 2023/24, 2024/45
2023 2nd Round Pick (N.O.)

Pelicans Receive:
Keldon Johnson $0.9 (2023) *Options for 2021-22, 2022-23
2022 Pick 2.17

Celtics use free release on:
(PG/CLE) Rajon Rondo $0.5 (2025)

Celtics also elect to release to free up a little cap (Will accept penalty):
(C/CHI) Marko Simonovic $0.8 (2025) (D-League)

New Celtics management made a tough decision in moving K. Johnson but believe it is the right one as it frees up some positional variability and gives the team a bigger inside presence with 2 real nice upside players. Over the coming days for sure the Cs new brass will figure out the core players and essential role players and believe this move helps take a step in that direction. Releasing Rondo and Simonovic were unfortunately had to be released.

Good luck to the Pelicans with Keldon as he is another budding player in the NBA

Pelicans confirm.  PWill was part of my many recent draft picks, but I like Keldon for my team as he has SF eligibility where I am thin.  I went heavy on Centers recently and like Sharpe long term, but that was the price.  This move also makes room for one of my draft picks.  Thanks for the negotiations and good luck with that loaded Boston roster.
