The Phillies have agreed to a deal with the Padres
Padres get:
CI Parker, Stephen, $0.5m (P-n/a)
CI-OF Jones, Garrett, $0.5m (P-2012)
P Rosenberg, B.J., $0.5m (P-n/a)
for
MI Rollins, Jimmy, $5.5m (2012)
SD pays 3m
I do this deal to add depth at MI. I think Jimmy has a little left in the tank. Low risk for me as if he looks as if he's done I only have him for one year, if he shows he still has it I can resign him.

I probably wasn't going to be resigning j-roll and doubt that he will perform to earn me compensation. At 33 his best baseball is behind him. Philly has been asking about him since the day I got him, :thumbsup:, and so it was time to make a deal. I send some cash with it, to make the deal work, but free up a mil as well. I get a CI which I badly need, and who is on a friendly prospect contract. I also pick up two young kids that show real promise. I'm happy to make this deal.
