Title: Jaguars and Yet Another Deal for the Vikings
Post by: Ben on March 07, 2022, 06:19:03 PM
Vikings Receive:
Allen Robinson WR/CHI $14M (2022)
Donald Parham Jr TE/LAC $600K (2022)
Demarcus Lawrence DE/DAL $14.3M (2023)
Pierre Desir CB/TB $500K (2022)

Jaguars Receive:
Duke Johnson RB/MIA $500K (2022)
Greg Dortch WR/ARZ $500K (2022)
Laquon Treadwell WR/JAX $500K (2022)
Mike Hughes CB-S KC $2.5M (2022)
Stephen Weatherly DE-LB (DEN) $8M (2024)
Rudy Ford S/JAX $500K (2022)
Devin Asiasi TE/NE 1.2M (2023)

Vikings agree to his deal as we use a position of strength at RB to buy low on ARob who hopefully will bounce back this season with sophomore QB Justin Fields learning more passing routes and how to be smart with he ball. The kicker here that got us really interested was Demarcus Lawrence as Minnesota feels he is a bargain at his current salary and contract. The piece that ay/brek the deal I Parham as he is fully capable of scoring, but it's time he starts getting more involved in the pass game between the 20s. While we feel we gave quite a bit to accomplish the deal, we got 2 of the best players in the deal as Duke Johnson could be headed for a backup role on a weak team. Has he lost a step tho? Whatever will happen happens but with more maturation out of Fields, ARob is a surefire sleeper.

Accept.

Making this move as I knew I will have tough decisions with my cap situation. I do give up 2 best players but content with this package and cap saving. Still need to make moves but 1st step to retooling and fixing cap without taking a massive hit in production.
