Team has been in the playoff mix for a few years but yet to be able to make a deep run, so 1 more move in hopes of getting over hump. I like the package of upside but Rask/Malkin are established vets and know what I am getting. Even in the latter half of their careers still should be good boost, and trust Rask will get a solid workload now that he is back. Mrazek hasn't been able to stay healthy enough and either way is clear backup so made him expandable. The player I did not see trading here was Tatar as I specifically acquired to keep as LW reinforcement, but this developed after where the cap requirement to be legal made him the most logical choice.

Neither Malkin or Rask was really in my long term plans. I took this opportunity bring in some youth.
