NOTE: Since there was no 2020 MiLB season, Yermin Mercedes does not actually qualify as a C, even though Fantrax lists him as one in his bio. So I went to Baseball Reference and found that he played 7 games as a C in the 2020-2021 Dominican Winter League. Every player is entitled to one position, and although it's a bit of a stretch, I am going to give him C eligibility. If he does not play in 25 games as a C during the 2021 season, he could possibly lose that eligibility if he plays at another position more games. Right now, during the 2021 season he has played the following: 1B: 1, DH: 17, RP: 1, P: 1 - if this trend continues, he would then be listed as a CI in 2022 (since his hitting appearances outweigh his pitching appearances). I am trying to be fair here, so I hope you understand my reasoning. His 2019 appearances are not applicable here because they are two years removed.

However, if he again plays in the Dominican Winter League and has more appearances as a C than as an MLB CI, or he accumulates more appearances in MiLB as a C, then he would retain his C eligibility.
