I believe we are beyond both the free drop and the claiming of non rostered players.

We are in active season status and as such I believe you may only release this player.

Sorry,  I would like to release newly acquired Kyle Alexander $0.5M (2022) with no cap penalty as he makes $1M or under per year.

I missed that rule too.
I believe there is a cap penalty associated regardless of salary in this league.

However I will release the player and you can sort it out with @Billy financially.

Daddy, go and read all the rules. It is clearly stated that players with a $1m or less salary can be free drop.
