The Reds have decided to tender a long term (prospect extension) contract to MI Gordon Beckham. Although his stats are trending in the wrong direction, the front office feels the talent is there and that he will eventually turn it around on the field. It is a gamble that will hopefully pay off in the end for a franchise that is fiscally limited.
