Matt Carpenter CI ($0.5 m p-n/a)
For
Anthony Bass SP/RP ($0.5 m p-2014)

I trade some of my pitching depth for a young corner infielder.  carpenter has shown that he has a good on base skills, he just needs an opportunity. He looks like a utility type infielder but gives me some depth.  bass looked very well he could turn into a very good picture specially in petco.

Cubs confirm. While I have needs all over the diamond, having to opportunity to grab a SP who could contribute for me next was too good to pass up. Thanks for the pleasant negotiations Rob.
