Boston trades:
OF Canha, Mark, $2.5m (2020)           
OF Sierra, Magneuris, $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP Chalmers, Dakota, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Miami trades:
SP Weathers, Ryan, $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP Ruiz, Norge, $2m (2019)

Miami continues to try and shore up their roster.  Although SP Ryan Weathers was the Marlins 1st Round Pick, in this trade, the Marlins receive a comparable talent in SP Dakota Chalmers.  Granted, Chalmers is recovering from Tommy John surgery, but he is only 22 and is on schedule to return to action in 2019.  He has shown great promise that he is a MLB talent and there is no reason to believe he will not return to form.  With that, Marlins also receive a productive OF in Mark Canha and an OF prospect, in Magneuris Sierra, who is also talented, but like many prospects, needs to mature.  SP Norge Ruiz is a bit of an enigma in that he has talent, but has already gotten himself suspended for doctoring the ball and has not progressed as much as anticipated.

Red Sox agree been trying to get Weathers since draft hoping he can produce like his father did for number of years.
