Title: Cubs-Reds Trade
Post by: kidd5jersey on January 22, 2019, 07:34:03 PM

Cubs Receive:
1B Yonder Alonso ($5M-2019)
x- Reds pay $3.5M of Alonso salary

Reds Receive:
C Chris Okey (PC)

Cubs accept this deal.  I wanted to add depth to the 1st base position.  While Okey has lots of control left, I am fairly deep at catcher so the move makes sense.  I like to have flexibility and Alonso gives me that option.  Brian to confirm.

Reds confirm I wasn't planning on resigning Alonso so I traded for a future mlb catcher I like.
