Title: White Sox/Astros Trade 7-28-18 11:17 pm ET
Post by: Brent on July 28, 2018, 11:10:14 PM

The White Sox and Astros agree to the following trade.  The Astros do this trade to add a few more young pieces to their rebuild while Escobar doesn't fit their long term plans.  Thanks for the trade talks.

White Sox trade:
SP Beeks, Jalen, $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP White, Mitchell, $0.5m (P-n/a)
MI Tucker, Cole, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Astros trade:
CI Escobar, Eduardo, $6m (2019)
OF Friedl, TJ, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Sox confirm. Escobar gives us a 20+ point bat for the stretch and get back a OF prospect.  Sucked losing Tucker, but he is no longer needed since I landed Story earlier in the season. Beeks was someone I signed this year and White was a thrown in piece on the Story trade.  All of these pieces are expendable for me.  Hopefully this trade works out for both teams.  Thanks for the easy talks.  :toth:

Since this trade will give the Astros 61 rostered players, a drop will need to be posted before it can be processed.

Also, CI Escobar, Eduardo, $6m (2019) is no longer MI/OF eligible and is now a CI.

When processed please place Beeks on my MLB roster.  Releases have been made to accommodate White and Tucker to the MiLB roster.
