Title: TB-NYY Trade - 2-22-18 8:57 am ET
Post by: kidd5jersey on February 21, 2018, 08:17:54 PM

TB Receives:
C Francisco Cervelli ($2.5M)-2018
MI Chris Seise (PC)
X- $2M Cash on Cervelli contract

NYY Receive:
OF Yasmany Tomas ($3.5M)-2019
OF Ben Revere ($1.5M)-2019

Tampa accepts this deal. Tomas is uber talented and healthy while Revere is a cheap platoon type outfielder. Primarily a cost move with eye on the future for Rays. Cervelli gives me a catcher to backup Barnhardt at cheap rental cost and a future piece in Seise that should be ready when Addy is done with contract. It also allows me to resign Jon Gray when season begins.

Yankees to confirm.

NYY accepts the deal. This trade allows Tampa to have some wiggle room with the cheap rental to re-sign other players along with adding depth at the position. Looking towards the future is always important to any league and will benefit Tampa in this trade. Tomas gives me a potential power hitting in the OF position and Revere will give some stats across the board when needed. Both will definitely help with depth at the position when needed in case of injuries or player slumps.
