Title: Trade Detroit and Minnesota
Post by: izaman3 on December 30, 2017, 02:41:43 PM

To Minnesota
Slater Koekkoek, $2.7m (2017-2020)
D - Sergey Zborovskiy (2015: 3/79 - 0 Games)
Round 3 - 2018

To Detroit
Reilly Smith, $2.6m (2015-2018)

Detroit has started to slide in the standings so the Wings are looking to pick up rentals. Smith is overperforming, but hopefully I can ride the wave and he will help me pick up some wins. The cost for Smith is some young defensemen that I am high on and a draft pick. I really like the upside of Koek and Zboro but I need to make a push this year.

Thanks for to Minnesota for the deal.  :toast:

You bought out Slater at 0.8m, but now you like him at 2.7m???

This is only bad because Indians boughtout Slater Koekkoek on a cheaper contract and is now reacquiring him at an inflated cap hit. Slater's a good player so this deal makes sense in the end.
