Title: Kings and Sabres Agree to Trade
Post by: Godzilla on December 09, 2017, 01:21:43 AM

:BUF-NHL2: Sabres get:
Oscar Klefbom, $1.5m (2015-2018)
Daniel O'Regan, $0.2m (2016-2018)
J.T. Brown, $2.1m (2017-2020)

:LAK: Kings get:
Zdeno Chara, $5.4m (2017-2020)
Zack Mitchell, $0.3m (2017-2019)
Scott Wilson, $1.8m (2017-2020)

Kings trade young D Klefbom and his small cap hit for 40yo legend Big Z one of my favs. We also exchange some role players to round out the deal. Buffalo to confirm. Thanks Beef.

Buffalo agrees. We get a 24yr old stud defenceman in the making on a young and talented Oilers team in the NHL. 40yr old Chara heads to Hollywood to wrap up his Franchise NHL career. Brown will serve a purpose. O'Regan is a low risk move to add a kid with skills. Enjoy your new players Godzilla. :toast:

:iatp:
This is a case of two franchises moving in different directions and it is clear Los Angeles wins now while Buffalo wins very soon when Klefbom regains his offensive abilities.

:iatp: Good pickup for the Sabres with Klefbom. Chara is still a good player but he is 40 going on 50.

:iatp: New LA owner making moves. Longrun this one will hurt LA losing Klefbom.
