Brewers trade

Khris Davis ARB 2019

To the Phillies in exchange for

Brandon Woodruff PC
Michael Baez PC
Mark Zagunis PC
2018 2nd and 11-13th round picks

Davis will be $5M for the upcoming season

Phillies pick up a top 5 left fielder and paid the high price to do so. I hate moving Woodruff and a 2nd rounder but a relatively cheap 2 years of control and the ability to extend after 19 was worth it for me. Zagunis is a quality hitter but a man without a position with the Cubs. I see him ending up a 4A type of guy at this point. Baez I could end up regretting but I'm in a win now mode and felt the risk was worth it. Thanks Don.

I confirm the trade. This is a win later type of move. I hope woodruff pans out this season and beyond.  Baez hopefully does down the road. Can never have enough picks- Thanks for working with me Jeremy, I appreciate it.

Davis is a great bargain...for the next two years. Extending him will be high risk. As for the return I really like the rebuild model with some of these pieces.

Both teams get an “A”.

ATL approves.
