Please extend the following

2016     2017     Best Rank        Value    New Contract

There are a few problems with your extension requests.  I will detail them one player at a time.

1) RP Brach, Brad, $2m (2018) -- Extension is correct, new contract will be RP Brach, Brad, $2m (2020)

2) RP Chapman, Aroldis, $5.5m (2019) -- Chapman cannot be extended at a level less than his current contract because the 70% rule only applies to players in the last year of their contract.  Since Chapman still has two years on his current contract, he does not qualify for an extension at a reduced rate.

3) SP Kershaw, Clayton, $12m (2019) -- Kershaw just received a contract extension under the 70% rule.  You cannot extend him for two more years at a reduced rate because, again, like Chapman, the 70% rule is reserved for players who are in the last year of their contract. Furthermore, to request more years at a lower amount, or to even request an extension at the current level, would be circumventing the rule.  If granted, we would essentially be allowing Kershaw to have an extension of more than two years based on past performances that have allowed him to be extended for two years at less than his former contract--which is in direct violation of the 70% rule stipulations.

Item AIX G-2.0
A player may be given an extension that is less than their current salary.  However, such an extension has three restrictions.
1) The eligibility period for granting a player an extension below their current salary is only in the last year of their contract.
2) On top of the minimum and maximum years for contracts, the longest this type of extension can be is two years.
3) New salary may be no less than 70% of previous salary.  Therefore, a player with market value of $2.5m, current one-year deal of $5m, can have an extension for two years equal to $3.5m (0.7 * 5 = 3.5).

Sorry about that, I thought I got all the answers I needed in our PM's, but I completely missed that in the rules.
