Title: Vancouver and Detroit make a deal

To Detroit:
Tomas Tatar, $5.7m (2016-2020)
Round 4 - 2017  (from :LV:*)

To Vancouver:
LW - Sonny Milano (2014: 1/16 - 3 Games)
Round 2 - 2017  (from :EDM:; originally :SJ:)

This deal essentially takes the the pieces I received in the Pearson deal and swaps them for Tatar. Since in my mind Tatar and Pearson are pretty even, it made since to make this move to bring a Wing back to the D. Tatar is one of the few bright spots on a struggling Wings team. And I like him as a player, so overall this is more of a preference trade for me.

Vancouver confirm the trade.
This trade is all about rebuilding the Canucks in the next few years, we lose that of Tatar one of our best LW and the 96th pick, but gain that of Sonny Milano who has a great chance of making the Jackets team this year and working his way into a top 6 position in the next few years.

The 35th pick to me helps alot, as have number of players that fancy to be at the start of the 2nd round, as this pick gives me a 3 picks in a run, to help strengthen the MiLR roster.

I will give the edge to Detroit for acquiring a proven asset in Tatar. Milano needs more seasoning but the Canucks appear to be on a steady rebuilding path.
