Title: Sens and Canucks Trade

Sens complete a trade with the Vancouver Canucks to add veteran Center Brassard.
We understand he is recovering from shoulder surgery but expect him to be ready to go when the season starts. We trade up and coming Sam Steel and two draft picks to complete this trade.

Going to Sens
Derick Brassard, $5.5m (2014-2018) for

Going to Canucks
C - Sam Steel (2016: 1/30 - 0 Games)
Round 3 - 2017  (from :NAS:*)
Round 4 - 2017  (from :BUF-NHL3:*)

Vancouver confirm the trade, we lose a good 2nd line centre but gaining that of Sam Steel who had a great WHL +1 season plus a further 2 draft picks to improve the MiLR roster. Plus Vancouver is in a long term rebuild process and don't expect to see the playoffs for a further few years

I approve of this trade.

Vancouver is the winner here with the acquisition of talented prospect in Sam Steel and draft picks while shipping out a Center with declining production and coming off a serious injury.
