Title: TB-NYM Trade 8/9/17, 12:05 pm ET
Post by: kidd5jersey on August 08, 2017, 07:52:34 PM

NYM trades:
CI Hanley Ramirez 7M (2019)
x-$7M in 2017

TB trades:
CI Braxton Davison (P-n/a)
P Mike Matuella (P-n/a)

Tampa Bay adds Hanley Ramirez in expectation of continually trying to compete regardless of current standing.  While losing Matuella and Davison will weaken the Rays farm, the Rays have several good prospects to cushion the blow.  OC to confirm.

Mets confirm. Hanley is having a down year, seems to be hurt at times, and we're not sure if he will ever regain the form he once had. Moving him now and being free of his contract in future years was enough for us to move him. Getting a couple of decent prospects works in our favor.
