Title: Nats-Rays Trade 7-23-17 8:49 pm ET
Post by: kidd5jersey on July 23, 2017, 08:21:06 PM

Rays continue rebuild by adding Ryan McMahon;  he is a prospect that I have coveted.  Losing Adams is tough, but it had to be done.

Rays trade:
CI Adams, Matt, $4m (2019)
CI Barney, Darwin, $1.5m (2018)
SP Weaver, Jered, $0.5m (2018)
RP Ziegler, Brad, $0.5m (2018)

Nationals trade:
CI McMahon, Ryan, $0.5m (P-n/a)
OF Revere, Ben, $1.5m (2019)

The Nationals have A LOT of holes to fill, and getting Matt Adams is certainly a positive move in the process to make them competitive.  Adams was the core of this trade for the Nationals--Barney, Weaver, and Ziegler are roster fodder needed to complete the deal.

Thanks for the trade talks, Kevin.
