Title: Penguins and Coyotes swap RW's in Semin and Doan
Post by: jackdaniels on August 24, 2011, 01:05:41 PM

Traded to Pens
(Right Wing) Shane Doan, $4.6m (2011-2012)
(Centre) Vladimir Sobotka, $1.4m (2012-2013)
NJ Round 3 - 2011 (via PHX)

Traded to Desert Dogs
(Right Wing) Alexander Semin, $7.5m (2014-2015)

For trade committee's approval. Semin 27 is a young player on a high scoring team with years ahead of him and entering his prime. Coyotes also free up 1 roster spot. I'm building a "win now" team so don't mind Doan who's 34 and due for an extension in the +6 million range. I ask for Vlad and the pick as future value to even out the deal.

Thanks for the seamless trade negotiations Hockeyfreak47.  :toth:

For the record, hockeyfreak47 has the cap space to make this deal since 2 of the players they bought out (Wolski and C.Mason) are paid for by their new teams and they get a buyout discount on Oduya. In all Coyotes now have $4.0m in extra cap space. And I'm the owner of Wolski and Oduya, so you're welcome hockeyfreak47. lol  :toast:

Wojtek Wolski, $2.5m (2011-2012) off the Coyotes' books - paid off by new team
Johnny Oduya, $2.0m (2011-2012) save 0.2m
Chris Mason, $1.3m (2011-2012) off the Coyotes' books - paid off by new team
