I'm guessing you can find pretty decent draft picks late. Even though I don't consider the likes of an Aho to be a late pick.

Proven vets plus 4 draft picks seem to be a nice haul in any trade.

After the top 10 picks or so, the talent drop off is pretty big. Russians are generally the one's that slip later over russian factor, as far as talent goes. Slavin is just a lucky find by Carolina. Same with Pesce. It will be interesting to see how that '15 class compares to other great drafts like '07, '08, '09, '03 to name a few.

With that said, nothing is a guarantee. Look at my recent buyouts, included are the #1 and #2 overall players in 2012 draft: Yak and Murray. 2 busts.

Jaccob Slavin, $0.2m (2015-2017) High rank 74th so it's a little cheaper at 3.0m (2017-2020)
