Title: Marlins / Tigers trade
Post by: johnbosma on March 31, 2017, 06:29:36 AM

The Marlins and Tigers have agreed to the following deal:

Marlins send:
RP Grant Dayton ($400k 2017, arb until 2022)

Tigers send:
SS Erick Aybar ($10m 2017, FA thereafter)

I was excited to see that Aybar got the starting job and wasn't planning on moving him but I do like Dayton and have Danny Espinosa to start at SS this year. It's also nice to gain the salary flexibility, though it's obviously not worth as much now as it would have been during FA.

Marlins accept.....still filling holes on team. I wasn,t planning on moving Dayton either, but I have plenty of RP and no SS so this deal was necessary.
