Title: Trade: Astros / Marlins
Post by: chrisetc21 on March 17, 2017, 10:19:18 PM

Astros Trade
Marwin Gonzalez $2m (5th yr arb)

Marlins Trade
Kevin Newman
2017 3rd round draft pick
$500k in international money for 2017

I expect to have some promotions from the minors this season so Marwin was a luxury that I was looking to move.  I like Kevin Newman, solid prospect, and you can never have enough shortstops so I had my eye on him.  Adding the pick and the international money made it a solid deal for me to move Marwin.  Thanks to the Marlins for the good negotiations.  Marlins to confirm.  Thanks.

Marlins confirm....we still have lots of holes to fill to field a full team so this trade was a necessary one. Marwin puts up decent numbers and can play many positions.
