Title: Angels/Nationals Trade
Post by: Maydab23 on March 12, 2017, 11:31:22 PM

:LAA: trades

SS Jean Segura     2.6M  arb

:WAS: trades

2B Ian Kinsler       12.5M
SS Chris Owings    $530,500   arb   arb

Angels approve. Segura had about 200 more points than Kinsler last year along with being a lot cheaper and controllable for one more year. However, I think he will regress a bit in Safeco and be comparable to Kinsler. Getting the extra depth in Owings is worth the trade off.

To make room on 40man, Angels place Homer Bailey on 60Day DL.

Nats confirm, I was looking to go younger and cheaper, and that exactly what I got here. I love kinsler, but getting a young stud to replace his spot at almost 10mm less, I couldn't pass up. I also really like Owings, but I think this is a win/win for both clubs!!! Thanks Angels for the smooth deal!!!
