Plus 5.5 million in cap savings for Carolina

Calgary Flames have completed a first trade under new management. This seems to meet both our team's needs. Thank you Halo99.

Carolina confirms

Didn't realize this guy was in such demand. I had three offers for him in the last hour.

 I would rather use the cap space to pursue other options on d.

I also want to mention this trade is contingent on Carolina's trade with the San Jose Sharks being approved.

Tough trade to render a decision. On the one hand Calgary acquires a normally productive Defenceman while Carolina clears a significant amount of salary. Let's call this a draw.
