Title: Phillies - White Sox Trade 12-11-16 2:42 pm ET
Post by: papps on December 11, 2016, 10:37:44 AM
Philly gets:
CI Martinez, Victor, $6m (2018)

White Sox get:
SP Happ, J.A. , $7m (2018)

Philly is gambling that Martinez still has some left in the tank.  We feel Happ hit his ceiling and had his career year last year.  Martinez will fill my bench role and brings much needed depth.

Sox confirm. Looking to unload Martinez due to his age and contract for next season. While I don't think Happ will be able to repeat 2016, he does give me another regular starter for the next two seasons. Hopefully this trade works out for both teams.
