Title: Cubs - White Sox Trade 12-9-16 12:20 pm ET

Cubs Trade:
SP Thornburg, Tyler, $0.5m (P-n/a)
C Pina, Manny, $0.5m (P-n/a)
RP Glover, Koda, $0.5m (P-n/a)

White Sox Trade
CI Wright, David, $20m (2018)
+Pay $18.5M of his 2017 salary only

Cubs accept. Wright is a massive risk having barely played in a few seasons and recouping from surgery, but with salary help this year and lots of caps space next year, Cubs can afford to take the risk. If we can get 60-70% of a healthy Wright and fill in the rest the time at that CI spot this will be worth it I think. Thanks for the smooth negotiations White Sox.

Sox confirm. Unloading Wrights contract was #1 for us.  Getting back some pieces I can actually use makes this a no brainer for me. Hope it works out for both teams. Thanks for the easy talks.  :toth:
