Title: MTL-CAR Trade

Hurricanes Trade:

Riley Sheahan, $1.5m (2015-2018)

Canadians Trade:

4th Rd Pick 2017

I have too many of this type of player so I might as well acquire another draft pick and clear a roster spot. I'm thinking Sobotka will be able to fill his role next year for a million dollars cheaper.

 :iatp:  I have the cap space.  I suspect he will rebound a bit and there was no viable options on the FA.  4th round pick usually has a 20% chance of making something of themselves soooo worth the gamble.

Carolina will miss his .25 points a game, his 50% effort on the ice and the way he almost hits somebody every game but we will manage with the draft pick.  :taco:

This guy isn't very popular among wings fans but he has the potential to turn it around. I'd rather have the draft pick and the salary off the books for next year than hope this guy suddenly starts caring.

I hope I'm wrong though. It's a worthwhile risk for Montreal.
