Title: Rafael Furcal [Waivers]
Post by: h4cheng on August 01, 2011, 03:15:40 PM
To anyone who is interested, I am willing to include 4M this year. Furcal is playing much better and can be re-signed on the cheap.

cant include more $, I can drop him and get 4M in return anyway.

Just realized Furcal would cost 7m to resign b/c his current contract is so high

If you drop him you only save 2.5m. If you would be willing to cover a larger part of the contract there is a better chance.

somehow I thought I'd get back 4M if I drop him.

New offer for anyone who takes him: I will cover 6M.

Again, I think we need clarification on whether or not it's ok to negotiate before a winning claim is determined... my impression is that waivers and claims should be made in a vacuum, and any negotiation comes later.

True... it's like holding candy out there with a promise.  GMs could get burned and cause tension in the league.  Treat the waiver claims with care!
