Title: Carolina-St. Louis Trade

Jean-Gabriel Pageau, $0.3m (2014-2017-EL)
Christopher Tanev, $1.0m (2015-2017)

to the Blues for:
Vladislav Namestnikov, $2.3m (2016-2019)

The Hurricanes are in rebuild mode and like the potential of this player and the fact that he's signed through 2019. Tanev and Pageau were not in Carolina's plans beyond 2017.

The Blues need Cap relief and more depth on D in pursuit of a cup, which they accomplish in this trade.

Reviewed your cap situation and have made a correction. 72.8 is your total salary cap. instead of -2.1 cap space it is corrected to 0.2m (in the black).

:iatp: Good move for both gents. It's a cap world and sometime you have to make deals to keep the core of your team together.

A good trade for both teams. Blues diversify and save a little cap. Carolina acquires a talented player.
