Title: Hawks & Blueshirts Trade
Post by: PsychoticPondGoons on May 22, 2016, 11:32:37 PM
Hawks want to retool. This deal moves us fwd.

To Chicago Blackhawks
G - Alex Nedeljkovic (2014: 2/37 - 0 Games)
G - Mackenzie Blackwood (2015: 2/42 - 0 Games)
Mark Streit, $4.7m (2015-2018)

To NYR
Andrey Vasilevskiy, $2.0m (2015-2018-EL)
Beau Bennett, $0.2m (2015-2017)

There is solid potential in Blackwood and Nedeljkovic.
I am digging it BIG TIME. Yeah I gave up the Ruskie but there's always a price. I think this is a 2 for 1.

:NYR: :iatp::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Love that I get a young goalie but bummed I have to give up 2 Top goalie specs.
Guess it's worth the risk of dealing two potential All-star backstops.
Moving Streit gives us more cap space to work with this Summer.
The rebuilding continues.

I like Hawks side better b/c they get the full 3 years each of those goaltenders, for 1 that has 2 years left. (#49 G costs 4.9M to extend  :o ) Vasilevskiy  should still be in minors, that was a mistake and hurts his overall upside in this league.

:iatp: giving it to NYR. Getting a starter imo. The other pair heading to the Hawks are specs. Good specs but still specs. Jack Campbell was a good spec once.

Good specs are worth it. These 2 haven't expired yet.
