Title: Blues and Avalanche make a deal

The Blues trade

1st rounder 12th pick
1st rounder 14th pick
Jaroslav Halak
Chris Stewart

The Avalanche Trade

Steven Stamkos
1st Rounder 2nd Pick
2nd Rounder 22nd Pick

The Blues do this trade to get Steven Stamkos and the second pick in the draft which should net another very good player.  It was hard giving up Halak and Stewart along with the 1st round picks but I feel I came out pretty good . Avalanche to confirm.

Sources out of Colorado have confirmed the trade.  The deal saw recently acquired Stamkos moved again in exchange for a much needed goaltender in Halak and a power forward RW Chris Stewart.

I don't get it, the Blues will most likely end up getting the 2 best players in the deal after picking #2 overall. Halak is good, but thats is giving up way too much in my opinion, when you could pick up a goalie in the draft.

That being said I will approve.

Good goalies are going to be at a premium in this league.  They score as much as forwards.   Also Stewart is a great young player.  The way I see it the Blues get 2 players who, if available, would be drafted in the first round of our draft plus 2 actual 1st round draft picks.  That's a pretty nice turnaround for Stamkos and the 2nd overall.
